Choun Yi Industrial has made precision metal parts in Taichung, Taiwan since 1987 and has worked with European and American outdoor knife brands for more than 25 years. Blade fine blanking, vacuum heat treatment, digital water grinding, 5-axis CNC handles, surface finishing and full knife assembly all happen on one site, so you deal with a single contact.
Folding knives (liner lock, frame lock, back lock, crossbar lock), outdoor and hunting fixed blades, tactical knives, EDC knives, and individual components such as blades, handle scales, lock bars and washers. We build to your drawings (OEM) or co-develop from a concept (ODM).
The sequence is: drawing or concept received → design review and material recommendation → quotation → sampling → pilot run → volume production. Our quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 with measurement data linked to production batches; customer drawings live in SolidWorks PDM with per-project access, information security is certified to ISO/IEC 27001, and we sign an NDA first on request.
Yes. Many brand customers buy heat-treated blades, CNC handle scales or lock bars from us and assemble in-house.
Yes. We routinely work with M390, CPM-S35VN, CPM-3V, AUS-8, 440C, D2, VG-10 and others, and set the heat-treatment curve per steel; if you have not chosen a steel, we can recommend one for the application and budget.
It depends on tooling, steel and finish; sampling generally takes a few weeks. The quotation states the sampling fee, sampling lead time and production lead time up front, with no later additions.
Drawings live in SolidWorks PDM where only staff on that project can open them, and every open and edit is logged; our information security management is certified to ISO/IEC 27001; and we sign an NDA before exchanging drawings on request. See the IT & quality systems page for details.
