Choun Yi Industrial Co., Ltd. was founded in 1987 and is an experienced integrated hardware and knife OEM/ODM manufacturer in Taiwan. For nearly forty years we have specialised in one thing: turning a drawing into metal parts that can be mass-produced reliably and delivered on time.
Choun Yi began by producing extremely precise Japanese sewing-machine parts — a market that is unforgiving on tolerances, surface quality and delivery discipline, and also our first teacher. That experience shaped our attitude to quality and became the foundation for moving into knife and multi-tool manufacturing.
Over nearly four decades, Choun Yi grew from a simple blanking shop into a full-service metal fabrication manufacturer with precision blanking, rigorous quality control, modular assembly and highly flexible production lines. We maintain 25+ years of deep OEM/ODM partnerships with leading outdoor knife brands in North America and Europe; our work spans folding knives, tactical knives, multi-tool pliers, pneumatic nailer components, and nearly 20 years of defense hardware and structural components.
Choun Yi vertically integrates a complete metal fabrication ecosystem: precision blanking leads into vacuum heat treatment, then multi-axis CNC machining, flat grinding (coarse and fine) and high-precision water grinding. For finishing we integrate partners for sandblasting, chrome plating, anodizing, PVD/DLC coating and Nylok thread-locking. Every stage has a long-standing, proven partner — the customer never has to coordinate a dozen shops.
We work routinely with common blade steels such as M390, CPM-S35VN, CPM-3V, AUS-8, 440C, D2 and VG-10, and set the heat-treatment curve to each steel's characteristics to balance toughness and wear resistance. If a customer has not yet chosen a material, we can recommend one based on application and cost.
Choun Yi holds dual certification: ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management.
